On August 10, ContourGlobal, an international independent power producer, announced that it has signed a 3 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) supply agreement with CATL. Under the agreement, CATL will supply 526 containerized liquid-cooled battery energy storage systems, each rated at 1.4 MW / 5.64 MWh.

The systems will be used across three of its projects: the Wallace BESS project in the United Kingdom, with a storage capacity of 500 MW / 2,000 MWh; the Taxiarches project in Greece, with 100 MW / 400 MWh; and the Los Maitenes solar-plus-storage project in Chile, equipped with a 90 MW / 360 MWh BESS. The projects in Greece and Chile are currently under construction, and development of the Wallace project in the United Kingdom has entered its late stage.
