According to foreign media reports, on August 17 local time, Sungrow held the groundbreaking ceremony of its energy storage system manufacturing factory in the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, Sokhna Industrial Zone, Suez Canal Economic Zone, Egypt.
The project has a total investment of USD 50 million, covers an area of approximately 50,000 square meters, has a planned annual production capacity of 10 GWh, and is scheduled to start production in April 2027. According to the Egyptian side, once completed, the project will become the first specialized battery energy storage system manufacturing factory in the Middle East and Africa. The project was signed in January 2026, taking about seven months from signing to groundbreaking.
