1.2GWh Energy Storage Deal: Trina Storage Expands Further in Latin American Market

Trina Storage has announced a major business milestone in the Latin American energy storage market, signing battery energy storage system (BESS) supply agreements with two leading regional energy companies — T-Power (the energy platform of Toesca Asset Management) and YPF Luz — with a combined contracted capacity of 1.203GWh.

Prior to this cooperation, Trina Storage had already delivered 1.2GWh of energy storage projects across Latin America. The latest agreements further expand the company's presence in the region, covering two major projects in Chile (722MWh) and Argentina (481MWh).

Chile: Trina Storage and T-Power Develop the Luz del Norte Energy Storage Project

The Luz del Norte Energy Storage Project, jointly developed by Trina Storage and T-Power, is located in Copiapó, Atacama Region, Chile.

The project has a planned capacity of 141MW/722MWh.

The battery energy storage system will improve the operational efficiency of the associated solar PV plant, reduce solar curtailment, and enable the flexible dispatch of renewable electricity across different time periods, supporting greater renewable energy integration in Chile.

Argentina: Trina Storage Partners with YPF Luz on the Alma Sur Energy Storage Project

The Alma Sur Energy Storage Project, developed by Trina Storage in cooperation with Central Dock Sud S.A., a subsidiary of YPF Luz, is an important component of Argentina's large-scale energy storage procurement initiative ALMA GBA.

The project has a planned capacity of 90MW/481MWh and represents a significant step in supporting Argentina's grid flexibility and renewable energy development.

Through these projects, Trina Storage continues to strengthen its role in Latin America's rapidly growing battery energy storage market, providing utility-scale BESS solutions to support renewable energy integration and power system transformation.
